Design for Caribbean e-Learning App

Excited to share a preview of first app we’ve ever designed. From the underlying research, user interviews, to the final visuals — It was truly a labor of love.

••The goal was to make it easy for students to:

✅ Access on-demand video lectures

✅ Take interactive online quizzes

✅ Track progress

✅ Connect with classmates.

••Online education has exploded over the last several years, so we could’ve easily cherrypicked some random features and thrown them together, but that wouldn’t have helped anybody.

••We started with a literature review of academic research on online education to understand which parts of the experience were most correlated with student success. Then we did a competitive audit of the top ed tech platforms across the world to see how those learnings manifested in action.

••💡 One of our key takeaways was the power of gamification.

••Gamification is a powerful tool that enhances student engagement and motivation by:

✅ Making the learning experience more fun and captivating

✅ Giving students receive instant feedback about their progress

••This makes the product sticky and keeps them coming back. Research shows that increased student engagement leads to improved performance in class and on standardized tests.

••So we built in points and badging to allow students to compete with themselves or their classmates. And we designed a visual system that makes it easy for them to track their progress and see how much work is on the horizon.
