Logo Design for Metal Additive Manufacturing Lab

I designed this logo for the Metal Additive Manufacturing Lab. Laser melting technology is used in this lab to generate 3D models. As you can see in the logo, lasers melt materials layer by layer, representing the process of the lab. The main element of the logo is the letter M, which represents both metal and the University of Memphis. In my design, I used Memphis University's brand colors, blue and gray.
