chop. logo

Chop. is a gastro project. Sometimes it means a small catering business, sometimes it is a pop-up restaurant but it always includes food, tastes, friends and enthusiasm. Bori and Nori, the foodie founders asked me to help in their brand identity, occasional event and other graphic designs. I started with the logo. Chopping is an essential part of cooking in every kitchen. Whether making a pad thai or a hungarian stew, most probably the first thing the recipe says: chop the vegetables (well, in Hungary it is mostly onions :) ). So you get a chopping board and start. This is where it all begins. This is where the name and the logo come from. For the Restuarant Day in February the girls came up with the idea of making a street food event. Porchetta is a traditional sandwich of the Italian markets, it is a rolled pork, stuffed all kinds of fresh herbs, pine nuts and some fruity filling. Then it is cooked slowly for hours, and the slices go into a ciabatta with home made basil and tomato pesto. They also served confit duck sandwich with balsamic vinegar and pear. This was the day when pig met duck, the hungry visitors could choose from the two options. It was a one day event, but we felt it important to make the branding and packaging consistent and thorough.
