Heliconia - Vintage Tropical Illustration

The long detailed strands of this plant proved difficult to work with, during the image trace process they frequently became muddled or morphed beyond recognition. Tropical flora & fauna are increasingly rare in the botanical illustration world.

The slice thru the artwork represents the dying nature of the original artform of botanical illustration. While by no means a competent drawer, this spin on the botanical illustration style represents my humble contribution to the artform.
