Branding & Packaging for a Cannabis Vape brand.
I was recently approached by a marketing agency to help with branding and packaging work for one of their clients - a Cannabis farm and Cannabis Vape brand based in Portland, Oregon. The company had steadily built a reputation for itself over the years as being natural, clean, potent and high-quality and so the brand had outgrown its old visual identity many times over. The client needed a logo and packaging concept for their line of Vape cartridges that would help the brand and products be perceived as authentic, natural and high-quality.
The initial stages of the project involved a brand strategy and discovery session which ended with a detailed Mood Board:
After the client and I agreed on the look & feel of the visual language, I set out to create preliminary logo design sketches that would be the blueprint for the three initial logo directions:

The negative space leaf concept on the left was singled out as the most congruent with the brand image and values. It is a major step up from the old logo - the new brand mark is a lot more recognisable as a logo and clear and potent in the message that it was sending to the target audience:
Once we had a winning logo concept, we moved on to create a packaging concept for the whole line of Vape cartridges. The design was based on natural textures and colors - recycled paper was used as backdrop for the packaging layout. The different blends were indicated with the use of handcrafted illustrations:
