Minimal Mobile Mockup
I love reading features about Precursor. I've noticed a lot more recently, and they normally have screenshots of the app. I noticed a lot of featured screenshots seem to have the same trouble I have with deciding what to grab. Our interface is very minimal, which is great for usability but apparently it's tricky for taking article screenshots.
This week I spent some time making some model shots of Precursor in two different poses: desktop and mobile, each showing off four specific parts of the app. I couldn't find an iPhone template that wouldn't drown out my screenshots, so I decided to make my own using an iPhone 6 spec sheet.
Then I decided to host everything on GitHub. Their public repos are great for this because they come with built-in review tools. This means anyone can visit the repo and download it, request something, or even see all its past iterations.
GitHub repos are normally just lists of files and directories. They're not known for their customization options, but readme files get rendered at the bottom of the page. And because they're markdown they also accept HTML. GitHub strips most of it out but there's still room for some subtle styling.
If you need to host some brand assets easily and for free, try a GitHub repo :)
