Napur

Napur is a brand new Icelandic gin crafted with pure glacial water, thyme, and juniper berries to create an amazing flavor. They wanted their brand to feel genuine and have a unique twist whilst also staying true to their Norse heritage. "Napur", meaning cold, chilly, & bitter in old Norse, is a brand that really wanted to show their heritage and wished to create a brand that felt timeless and unique, just like their gin.

They requested a primary & secondary logo, label, and gin bottle design.

For my design, I researched what Iceland is known for; their black sand beaches. I thought using this as the background for the label would not only be a source of pride, but would instill images of a foggy, cold, and lonesome voyage. I used a classy, wide serif font that brought a sense of serenity or peace to the design, and used another classic Icelandic symbol for the illustration on their label, as Iceland is well-known for their volcanoes as well.

Lastly, I researched Norse runes and incorporated the Norse "N" rune, ᚾ (naudiz/nauthiz), in the logo to fulfill their wishes for a unique and heritage-tied brand.
