Toolkit

Toolkit is the name we gave to the design system that we developed for YourTradebase, a complex project management app used daily by thousands of Trades professionals.

Toolkit improves and unifies the visual design of the app across web, iOS and Android. It provides a single source of truth for the distributed design and development team.

Atomised UI components are created and maintained via a shared Sketch library. A front-end code framework is developed and maintained to mirror it.

As fortune would have it, Trade Gothic, a classic workhorse typeface, provided a suitably condensed and optimized typeface solution.

A variable colour palette provides ample room for adding suitable contrast and meaning to the app's many complex screens and workflows.

A library of layout options provides a jumping-off point for developing new screens from scratch within a set baseline.
