Portfolio site design?

Been working on an update to my portfolio site. While my current shows off my work, it doesn't really show off me (if that makes sense).

So this is my first design idea. It's not 100% complete as not sure if I should use the mock ups as the main image for each project or just a flat version?

Will work on it a little bit more, but if anyone has any thoughts let me know :)
