Color Coded Collaboration

The bulk of my color palette for Precursor is set in grayscale. I did this early in development to keep focus on what's important while you're prototyping—your ideas.

And despite our simple aesthetic, color actually plays a vital role in the app. Reserving it for interactions between collaborators keeps focus on what's important while you're collaborating—your teammates.

With some research and a little math I found 8 colors that offered the type of contrast I needed. Using Photoshop, I mixed them into something I wanted—more congruent and visually appealing.

Lastly, I deconstructed the overlays and filters I made using Photoshop, and coded them into Less functions so I could test and tweak each color individually within the actual app.

Thanks @_erica for inspiring the color mixing.
