Yoga In The Park

During the pandemic things got scrappy. My go to screen printers decided to stop printing flat stock and focus on apparel. So, when it came time for the 2021 Posters for Parks show I had to get a little creative. Going back to my days of screen printing, I figured I could print them myself and since the pandemic I picked up the hobby of building furniture so, I decided to build a screen print cabinet.

Seeing as my screenprint skills were rusty it was crucial that my design was one color. So I needed to come up with something in one color but still had tons of visual interest. During the winter my wife likes us to do family yoga, so this one is an ode to my wife. This illustration shows a woman doing the yoga tree pose intertwined with the forest, becoming one with nature, being a tree. I thought it would be irreverent to visually represent the pose as the woman literally becoming a tree.
