A Cultural Exchange Non-Profit.

The Half Moon Bay – Kariwa Sister City Association is based on a student exchange between Half Moon Bay, CA and its “Sister City” Kariwa, Japan. The purpose of the program is to promote cultural education amongst participating students, aged 14-18. I was lucky enough to participate in this program as a high schooler, and it was a lifechanging experience! I spent 30 days with a host family in Japan where I got to be a liaison for my hometown while also learning about what life is like in Japan.

The mark shown here was one of a handful of proposed logo directions and we're still in the process of creating something final. The client asked to include a red sun after seeing a first round of options, and I love how the pops of red are working with a blue/watery color pallet overall. The primary logo would be a badge, and then secondary logos (at the top) could be used for other uses where a badge doesn't fit well.
