Introducing Parakeet – Portland’s newest art & design agency from Louie and Alexa. We're really excited to be a new little studio drawing logos and icons and illustrations for people.

A bit about our logo…
We drew over a hundred parakeets. We started by taking our Field Notes sketchbooks to Smuggler's Cove in San Francisco and started sketching at the bar, sipping tropical cocktails.
From there we took our sketches into Photoshop and Illustrator, and tried to hammer out some really nice shapes. There were more organic parakeets, more geometric parakeets, and admittedly a few terrible ones.
But after a while, we came to something we liked: something that was both naturally beautiful and geometric. One that plays to both of our styles.
Along the way, we drew a few wordmarks that shared angles and attributes with the logo.
We landed on what you see here, a little Parakeet we call Rosita, sitting on a little perch.
