Ashoka Vatika in Bengal Pattachitra Style

The Sundara Kandam of the Ramayana by Valmiki symbolises one of the most beautiful tales of loyalty when the mighty Hanuman flies across the ocean to Ravana’s Lanka and visits Maa Sita who is held captive there in the Ashoka Vatika.

Hanuman witnesses the torture of Maa Sita in the hands of the evil Ravana as he hides in one of the trees waiting for the right time to give maa Sita the ring that symbolises Lord Rama's love and willingness to fight for his beloved.

This beautiful tale has been showcased here in the Bengal Pattachitra style which is a folk art style from the interiors of West Bengal.
