Camping Amongst the Stars

This is an illustration I made a few years ago. Now, I see many obvious problems with it but it is nice to go back to your old work to see progress and spot what went wrong. In this case, the objects don't feel particularly grounded especially when the edges are in shadow. This is likely because I used a single fill layer with a mask to form all shadows. In reality, the color of an object alters its highlight and shadow colors.
