Walk Me - A Dog Walker Booking App

Introduction

As part of the Dribbble Product Design certification, I was supposed to create a reliable and simple to use dog walking application which can help users feel secure while finding and booking a dog walker for their pet. Hence, presenting Walk Me

Role: UX Research, UX Design, UI Design

Timeline: June – Aug 2022

Tools: Figma, FigJam

Problem Statement

With some resemblance of normal life resuming, people are finding themselves stretched thin with their schedules. One area of daily life that is being squeezed by that demanding calendar is time spent with our furry family members. People love their pets, but seldom have the time to take them for a walk. They are forced to depend on their security guards and servants, who typically are unaware of your pet needs

Solution

Whether you are a busy family with all of the extracurriculars, or simply can’t be home in time to enjoy the nice spring day, Walk Me gives users the ability to find trusted dog-walkers based on location and provides a simple platform to review and find the best match for their pup. Walk Me users will have the option to book a one-time walk, or if they are enjoying the peace of mind knowing their furry-friend is being exercised and taken care of they can set up recurring walks.

Final working prototype of Walk Me:

Follow along to have a deep look into the various steps I took to create the final prototype of Walk Me

Research

After defining our problem, research was the necessary follow up. This consisted of market research and user research

Based off of the user interviews and research, the following user persona was created:

With all the information now compiled, I started laying out the initial user flow for the app. And based on that user flow, I created a set of wireframes that helped test and validate the ideas we had for possible solutions

Wireframes

Multiple variations of wireframes were created for the dog walker search and profile pages in order to find the best possible to portray the important required information about the dog walker in the profile page so that the users can trustfully book a walk for their pets

Visual Designs

After finalizing the placement of various components on the different screens. I started working on the UI of Walk Me which included making mood boards, color styles, text styles and components library

The Visual Choices for this app have been kept clean to make sure the trigger points are big enough for interaction and have also tried to keep the cohesive brand identity carried throughout the process of booking a walker.

Cards and Features

Future Steps

  • As next steps, I would like to add more features that would assure the users to book walkers through our app such as live map tracking of the walker when they are walking the user's pet

  • Being both my first case study and first UI/UX project, I believe that iterations of Walk Me will continue to happen as I learn more on how to improve the UI of the application to make it more accessible and efficient for the users

Thank you a lot for watching !

I would love to hear your thoughts and feedback to improve my UX / UI skills.
