What is Juno? 🐺

Juno is a mobile dog walking application concept that was created as part of Dribbble's Product Design Course to demonstrate the digital product design process from start to finish.

Scope it out 👩‍💻

Our journey begins with market research. Researching competitors and conducting interviews with potential users allows us to identify what pain-points and where to focus our design resources.

During interviews I found that the participants commonly referred to their pets as family or their children, and their primary concerns were the pets' safety and trustworthiness of the dog walker.

Go with the flow 🏄‍♀️

This step is to build out essential user flows for using the application.

These include:

1. Onboarding new users

2. Adding their furry friends

3. Browsing services

4. Booking their service

Barebones 🦴

Next we built a wireframe of the different app pages and created simple components in order to lay the foundation where everything fits in our app.

Let's get visual 🎨

Once happy with the wireframe we introduce visual design to our elements. We establish a brand aesthetic using proper design directives.

I decided to focus on a single distinguishable color to draw attention to interactable elements. I chose to go with a rounded corners throughout the design based on visual psychology research explaining how our eyes make focal points around rounded content.

Testing 🧪

User groups are given a simple prototype. This allows us to observe how users will interact with the app and address any pain-points that may arise.

Cogitationes finales 💭

This exercise in product design has given me a deeper appreciation for the products (both physical and digital) I use day-to-day. I've found myself increasingly curious about what might have gone through product designers' minds, and constantly daydreaming of what their processes may have been like. I'm piqued to further develop the skills I've learned and thrilled to have had the opportunity to discover a new obsession.
