Paytient | Payment Flow

Paytient is a healthcare app that has raised over $4M USD. They let users tap into their paycheck early to get cash for healthcare costs. I joined the team as the first designer to build out the early versions and test the idea.

Users showed this card to the cashier at checkout to pay for their medical bill. Originally, the goal was to make this as easy as “one tap.” But we found the best way to introduce other payment use cases (such as vet and pharmacy bills) was to ask which card they were using in the moment (top right screen). I also intentionally kept the home screen (top left) simple, with a single “Tap to pay” button to ensure there was no confusion when it came time to checkout.
