Dog Walking App

Dog walking app

How do I get a dog sitter when I’m not available?

To solve the question above, we created a service app called Petsy. It enables dog owner to easily connect and find the right person to walk their dog during their absence.

You’ll see below each step of our approach and the different problems we have tried to solve.

— RESEARCH & EMPATHIZE

What the user is looking for?

The first step was to understand the different problem the user have at the present time, and what are their goals. What do we need to take into consideration to respect the user wishes? To build empathy we would than create our user persona.

— USER FLOW & WIREFRAMES

How can we build a high fidelity journey ?

Once we understood more about our user, we created a user flow and started wireframes. This allow us to have a big picture of how the user would interact with our app and help us to meet their needs efficiently.

— VISUAL DESIGN & DESIGN SYSTEM

How can the user trust our product?

At this stage we start to create visual design, make a component library as part of a design system for consitency purpose. It was also important to emphasis trust by the choice of color, and typography. For this app we choose blue as the primary color, which often communicate trust and cream as the background for great contrast. We also choose a sans serif typography as more relatable than serif typography.

— PROTOTYPE & TEST

How can we improve our product?

The last phase consisted in prototyping the visual design to make them alive and ready to be tested. During the test phase we realised that it was difficult for the user to communicate with the dog walker easily so we added it as a feature. During the phase test we also realised that it wasn’t very clear when the booking process was finished so we added a congratulations page.

This project was rewarding and taught me a lot about product design. I had the chance to developp my skills in UX/UI design and always be solution oriented, so it stays user centered.

Thank you!
