Judo App Icon

When working on a new logo for Judo, a no-code build app, we started with the premise that it lets one person both design and build mobile experiences using familiar tools.

First — we looked at the tools designers use on regular basis, both analogue and digital. Then we researched the build tools and how they are commonly represented. We noticed that most of the apps use traditional metaphors in their UI — brushes, pencils, erasers, hammers, wrenches — they are are almost universal and all designers and developers know what they mean. That lead us to the question — what if we could have all the tools in one place? Or in one tool.

This is how we arrived at the logo concept. Judo — is a versatile multitool that provides everything you need to create mobile content from start to finish in one place.

The design was supposed to work as an app icon, and as a single-colour logo for print. The final icon was designed in a neo-skeuomorphic style, to match the Big Sur Mac OS interface.
