This was a logo and label design I did for Center Ice Brewery.
JRF Brewing X Blending was created by Steve Albers in honor of his late friend John R. Ferrara. John, always believed in Steve’s dream of building his first company Center Ice Brewery, during construction, you could always find John painting and sandblasting and even worked security during the grand opening. John would regular come over to Steve’s home with his son (John R. Ferrara JR.) who was a teen at the time and home-brew together.
John’s dream was to brew barrel-aged, premium craft beer. Therefore, they would home brew high-gravity, premium beers, soak oak-chips in premium spirits (for example: Glenlivet-18), and age the beer on the oak chips for months.
John passed away from cancer in 2019 and he never ended up making his dream beers. Steve is eager to tell the story of John’s dream and pay tribute to an incredible friend. What makes this even more special is that Jack, Johns’ son is one of the two brewers. What better way to pay tribute to a friend than to have his son brew barrel-aged beer in memory of his dad.
