DCAA Apparel Illustration

Apparel Illustration for DCAA Solutions. Maybe it's just the child in me but I love illustrating dragons. This dragon was illustrated with more of a traditional etching style. One of my nonnegotiables when it comes to illustration is the consistency of stroke—I always set a minimum line width and never go thinner than that. This keeps the whole piece feeling unified and tight while making sure I don't get lost in the details. That was especially important with this piece because I knew there were going to be a LOT of details. However, this practice on its own can sometimes make pieces feel flat, so I always make sure to add strong shadows in order to put the depth back.
