SILK
SILK is a Figma mockup for a web app that targets kids & teens who are interested in learning web design. The concept stemmed from a prompt provided by Google as part of their UX Design Certificate Program.
This was my first project designing for a tablet display and reusing the frames I made for my MacBook Pro prototype wasn’t as simple as I thought. Learning how to take advantage of Figma’s Scale tool helped reduce the manual resizing I had to considerably. Figma’s lack of advanced user interactivity put a hard ceiling on a lot of my ideas for the PROJECTS and coding side of the mockup in general, so I couldn’t explore as much as I wanted to on that end.
Overall, I felt very in my element as I worked through this last project for my Google UX portfolio. Iterating on designs can be a pain, but feeling comfortable enough with applying the ins and outs of the design process to produce a polished high fidelity prototype feels great after all that work!
