Hy there. This time I decide to do a minor UI redesign of popular Canva.

Why Canva? After three months of using Canva in my team, mainly for creating social media posts and simple brochures, we faced some problems in terms of user experience.

Based on issues that we as a team faced while using Canva, I decided to do a UI redesign concept with the hope that maybe some of these changes will be implemented.

Solution

For the first problem, I decide on two things.

The first is to increase the icon size of user-generated folders and put them before default ones(purchased,...), and the second is to move to add design and change display buttons beneath recent design because when users start to search through folders, it more natural and closer to put those button in the area where his current attention and focus is.

To solve the second problem and avoid unnecessary steps while creating a new design, I added a submenu to the primary CTA "Create a design" button. With this solution, we are eliminating the possibility for users to wrongly place new designs and increase speed and ease of use.
