Mama's Sauce Birthday Lettering - Process

Here is a wider glimpse into some of my process from @Mama's Sauce birthday lettering. Originally I wanted the words to lay out in a circle format, but I struggled to make it work. I realized I was trying to force too many words into a predetermined shape. Through this process I learned sometimes you have to let the words drive the design, which is how I landed on the final diamond shape. I am super pleased with where it ended up and it is a bit more unique than the circle format.
