Ukraine is my home
Hi, I’m Maria, and I am Ukrainian.
On the 24th of February, my life changed. All of our lives have changed. Life is completely different, and life itself is nothing like it used to be – first of all, in our minds.
We have always been a strong and independent nation. Throughout our history and all occupations, we’ve never lost our identity, and that is something no one will take from us, ever. The whole history of Ukraine is a struggle for freedom in the fight with Russia, to defend our rights as an independent state. We have never been and never will be part of the occupational culture of Russia or any other country.
We love and respect our language, art, and our brave heroes.
If you are reading this, you probably live in an independent and peaceful country. And you have the opportunity to help us bring peace back to our land. You can help Ukrainians right now by using this website. It is the most prominent foundation that has helped our army since 2014.
Also, I am sure that organizations in your town collect humanitarian aid for Ukraine. Every bit of aid is a huge help to my fellow Ukrainians who have lost everything in this cruel, cynical, and bloody war of one man’s sick mind.
Through my collages, I wanted to express my love for Ukraine, her beauty, and her people.
The first one is devoted to Galicia, the western region of Ukraine. I live here, and the sheer beauty of the culture is breathtaking.
