Sun Stories: Spring

The project Sun Stories has started back in 2020 as a way of noticing some good things that happen every day even though being cynical seems a better option.

It’s a cover illustration for this edition, the idea was to fit lettering into the illustration to fill the square. Comparing lettering with previous “suns”, this one has improved legibility - no confusing loops, and there’s also less curves that seem unbalanced.

Additionally, I adjusted the color palette to feel like spring. Before I experimented with colors and couldn’t come up with one universal rule for the project. In Abstract: The Art of Design season 2 episode 1 on Netflix artist Olafur Eliasson shows that light has different color throughout the year or just summer? Don’t remember exactly, but I applied this observation when chose colors.
