Self-Reliance

Self-Reliance: Graphite and charcoal on cold press paper; 2352X1697—Sharing the same birthday with R.W. Emerson makes me a bit biased. My favorite essay of his is Self-Reliance. This piece was sketched out for my tattoo artist and is now on my right arm to remind me of the most important person in my life—myself. If I can’t rely on myself then I have no business asking anyone to rely on me or attempting to rely on anyone within society.
