Qovery Logo Design Process

This is a case study of a logo design process we used for redesigning a logo for Qovery, the simplest way to deploy your full-stack apps. The goal was to update their brand image according to the company's revised values, target audience and current trends while keeping it recognizeable for their current clients

Mindmapping

Prior to starting the "true" design stages, it was necessary to define Qovery's brand strategy, including the target audience shift, their business goals nad the list of competitors.

Then we defined the keywords to be used as an inspiration for the future brand image. These words would be the basis for the sketching process and the key elements in the whole brand story

Draft Sketches

During the sketching stage we explored multiple ideas within the selected direction to define the shapes which work best for the future brand image

Draft Vectors

This stage is devoted to define which of the concepts have the best potential to become the final logo design

Exploring the colors

At this phase we're exploring the color hues to define the best looking option

Testing the options on mockups help us to see how the logos work on different branding assets

Typography

A wordmark exploration stage is very important if we want to achieve consistency throughout all the brand image

After the most appropriate font is selected we move forward to the final tweaks: kerning and customizing the letters, defining the precise proportions and layout of the wordmark and the logo sign

Logo sign grid is another step to making the final logo look... final :)

Guidelines

The final results are documented in a logo guide which includes the essential constants needed to establish the basics for the new brand
