Modern Cityscape at Sunset

This here's a vector illustration that I created for a client that didn't end up making the cut.

This client provided services and representation for condominium developers.

They needed some illustrations of modern condominium buildings for their new website.

This illustration was designed for the main landing page, and was meant to resonate with site users while differentiating the client from the competition, who for the most part, resorted to stock photography for their website imagery.

It was a tight deadline so I started with some quick internet research into current and upcoming visual trends in the condo real estate industry.

On the weekend, I also took a drive into the city to take a gander at some buildings that were being newly developed to get some ideas on details that I could include in the illustrations.

With a few ideas and resources at hand, I started by sketching out some quick concepts. Then I turned those sketches into a vector illustration.

Lastly, I used Photoshop to add textures for visual interest, and lighting effects to add contrast and create a little bit of mood.
