Treasure, Matey

Just about anytime I've ever done illustration, it's been solid/flat with little texture. Mostly because I never took the time to really learn how to effectively apply texture to my illustrations. Well, I'm finally diving in and trying to level up.

This is a first for me, so feedback, pointers, and tips on texturing illustration work would be much appreciated!
