National Palace of Mafra

The Palace of Mafra (in Portuguese Palácio Nacional de Mafra) is Portugal’s most important baroque monument. On 7 July 2019, the Royal Building of Mafra – Palace, Basilica, Convent, Cerco Garden and Hunting Park (Tapada) was inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The two towers of the Palace feature a unique set of 120 cast bronze bells, divided into hour, liturgical and carillon bells.
