Kryo: Light mode/dark mode
Sharing a sneak peek at the work we’re doing with Kryo to help people get better sleep.
The team at Kryo asked us to dream up a way to make better sleep habits a part of everyday life.
Together we created Kryo’s Dream30 Challenge based on their founder’s book Reprogram Your Sleep.
Personalized to individual lifestyles, the app provides a to-do list of tasks to complete throughout the day that help lead to better sleep. Users track their sleep throughout the challenge to better understand the connection between their new habits and the quality of their sleep.
Soothing and dreamy, that was the goal. We used gradients as an alternative to illustrations to add visual interest. We felt the gradient supported the utilities of the app rather than distracting from it.
The four gradient themes dynamically change based on the time of day you are using the app: morning, afternoon, evening, and night.
Each theme can be paired with your phone’s light or dark mode. In the shots above, you see the night theme paired with dark mode and the morning theme paired with light mode.
Dark mode was a priority as we knew many people would be using the app before bed, or even in the middle of the night, and we wanted to reduce eye strain and blue light exposure.
Which is your fave?
