Electric

American poet Walt Whitman's famous poem “I Sing the Body Electric” intuited the intimate relationship between the body and its animating soul. As the basic operating principle of nervous systems is based on the flow of electrical currents, I depicted this link as a multifaceted profile emerging from electricity.

This illustration started life as an unchosen concept for a commission but I couldn't shake the idea, so I decided to finalise it for myself!
