Bitmax
Bitmax knew they had a problem. They distribute movies to major brands and channels like Netflix, Comcast, and Amazon on Demand. They reach tens of millions of people each year. They're an established brand with offices in L.A. and London. But they had fallen behind.
When they reached new people online their first reaction wasn't "wow these guys are a big deal! " or "Wow, these guys distributed 2021 Oscar winning Another Round the highly acclaimed Parasite" or even "Bitmax are clearly at the top of their game". Unfortunately, their first reaction would be "I'm not sure what is going on here".
Bitmax reached out to us to help solve this problem.
Of course we said yes. We wanted to get their website looking tidy but more than that we wanted to do their brand justice. They helps distribute joy to so many people across the globe, it only seems fitting that this is reflected through their website.
But how do we do that?
We find that it helps to start with a theme. For Bitmax, the theme was obviously movies and the cinema experience. So we thought why not take their mission one step further and bring the full cinema experience to their website.
By overlaying a distortion effect, together with an immersive dark theme and a fixed top light source, we've created a sense of being in a dark room. This has made for a great framing effect for text and images that gently moves the user through the site journey.
The design is reaching completion and it's ticking all the boxes. We're excited about the next step. During the website's development we'll introduce custom illustrations and animations to add an extra dimension to the interactivity of the site.
We haven't solved Bitmax's problem yet. But a solution is just around the corner and will be one to check out when it's complete!
