It's been a summer.
It's been a summer.
Three months into my new role as Director of Marketing for Caliber Solar and an entire brand was born right before my eyes. This is what it means to be a creator. On May 13th I moved to a new city and took the reins of a brand without a logo, with no social media accounts, no incentives, no websites, no sales materials, no training materials, no strategy...and from nothing rolled with the punches to create a full and competitive brand from the ground up.
This progress wouldn't be possible without the amazing support and help from the true power team that I have. These are leaders that have enabled me to do more than I thought was possible. Josh Sluyter Justin Gossling Dustin Rowley
It's rare to find a group that promotes personal responsibility over 'being a boss'. I've learned that a lot of leadership is not in telling people what to do, how to do it, or to think and act in a specific way. Rather, it's about holding to your guns and setting and constantly raising your standards as you begin to achieve and produce at higher levels. "I won't tell you how to do your job, but I'll make sure you don't do crap work." "I'll lead you in the direction I want you to go in and I'll make sure you're producing your best work along the way."
Whenever I begin to lack in faith of my ability I'll remember this experience as a testament to being able to do anything that I set my mind to. And to surround myself with exceptional people who push me to be my best. This experience and the lessons I've learned along the way remind me of a powerful message my old media teacher, Bill Phelps, taught me, "Don't associate your name with crap."
This graphic is the cover piece of our last summer incentive that launched today, closing the book on a summer well spent. Beat Your Best.
