Wheaten Terrier Logo

The Soft-coated Wheaten Terrier, named for its open coat of wavy wheat-coloured hair, is an ancient breed from Ireland. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
🇮🇪 Law forbade common folk from owning hunting and coursing dogs such as the Irish Wolfhound, so the Irish commoner bred a medium-sized farm dog capable of many different tasks. That’s why in Ireland, Wheatens were commonly referred to as the "Poor Man's Wolfhound."⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Wheatens herded livestock, hunted vermin, guarded the property and family, and worked as gun dogs. To this day, Wheatens have retained their versatility. They often compete in agility, tracking, and herding competitions.⁣⁣

Designed as a part of an ongoing personal project exploring different dog breeds through logos and illustrations.
