Foundation Degree Mobile Apps Prototype

Mobile app digital prototype – NRC Network

About the app My app initial app idea for Northern Regional College was an induction app for students starting at the campus. It is proposed that my app will allow for students to fill out the required documents within the app which they typically have to go to various stations in the campus to fill out. This will help make this process run more smoothly. After investigating further, I realised that I could integrate a navigational system into the app also. This would help new students immensely and stop them from getting lost easily. This cuts down time and prevents students becoming as overwhelmed with their new surroundings on top of becoming lost easily. The main purpose of this application is to allow the user to be able to fill in registration documents as well as to find their way around the campus. This will make life for both students and staff much easier. In addition to this, with the aid of this app, the user will be able to use the many features available to them such as viewing the best route to a room, see if a room is free to study in or book a room and view timetable rooms. This application will be universal in the sense that it will be compatible with all mobile devices. This includes but is not limited to, tablets and smartphones. Furthermore, this app will primarily only be used during collage hours or at home to plan how to get to a particular room or area before arriving at the collage. In terms of the target audience, this app is for, students (both new and current), teachers and substitute teachers as well as visitors and contractors at NRC. Due to the wide range of users, there are different levels of access within the app. I also have a presentation on this which was for pitching the application to a potential investor as part of my assignment if you would like to see that as well. This digital prototype was created on Adobe XD.
