Zaal and Rudābeh

Zaal and Rudābeh is the story of two lovers in Shahnameh (A long epic poem written by the Persian poet Ferdowsi). Zaal is a legendary Iranian king who was born with white hair. This illustration shows the love of Zaal and Rudābeh, the princess of Kabul, while she is pregnant with Rostam, the most famous hero in Persian mythology.
