Creating graphs for color vision deficiency

Wrapping Paper
Any machine learning project has an increased requirement to be as transparent as possible for the users to accept the technology. This also means that accessibility is of further importance. For this project, we used Paul Tol's Light Color Palette (read more about it: https://personal.sron.nl/~pault/). We also tried the color scheme from Masataka Okabe & Kei Ito , but the former was closer to the brand guidelines of the customer.

Because of the large amount of data, the colors alone would not be enough. We used "wrapping paper" patterns to further differentiate the colors from each other for bar charts and the (custom designed) pie chart + sector graph. For Line graphs, we used different kinds of dotted lines combined with geometric shapes.
