UI Screens Preview | Voter Buddy App

Creating the UI Design + Visual Assets for an app prototype called Voter Buddy, an anonymous and chat-based app that fosters open and inclusive discussion in order for first-time voters to get acclimated to political discussion and ultimately make informed decisions. Through user research and interviews, we found that many teens receive a poor political and voting education. Many first-time voters experience barriers to voting that stem from a lack of voting education that involves them directly. With apps like Headspace in mind, the visual identity was built to be welcoming and inclusive while still keeping elements of American political motifs.

These screens showcase an interface built to showcase the user's journey of learning with badges and achievements tracked to encourage progress and continued discussion within the app. I built out an assets library so these achievements could be seen as user badges. It also displays the moderator-led chat features to promote open discussion and a way to report abusive users or hate speech if necessary. Visual elements were created in Adobe Illustrator and made interactive within Figma.
