Finding a proper metaphor for product illustration is always a challenge💪 Even more of a challenge is to understand our user’s needs and see how to use VPN from their point of view.

We understood that describing real-life cases will be more appealing to our users than just advertising statements. Using public wifi can inflict the loss of private data and Documents VPN is a great tool that helps to protect your private data. Metaphorically, iPhone is vulnerable and someone's sneaking in it. But also, it is very important that the whole situation resembles our daily activity: sitting in the cafe 🍹, scrolling your iPhone. This is something anyone can relate to and understand.

About the process 🛠️ Creating illustrations can be divided into ideation, sketching, visualization and animation. As soon as we decided on metaphor, we started the sketching process and from different variants decided to choose isometric view, because it allowed us to create depth and feeling of presence.
