What a community means to me?

A community to me means a group of people who have a shared understanding. Meaning the people around you understand your pain; it doesn't mean they have to agree with anything you have to say or share your values; they understand you.

I came from a faraway land :), where I lived in a tiny village in a cater. We were all poor, ignorant and most families didn't agree with each other. However, we had a shared understanding and when outside threats threatened our livelihood. We stood together, and no one was left to stand alone.

What we lack today is empathy. Neither the school nor our family members teach kids how to empathize. Changes happen when we begin to understand each other.
