Legend of Korra, March of Progress

I ventured a bit outside my comfort zone on this design for a Nickelodeon fan art competition. Design was inspired by the steps of human evolution illustration and of course my favorite animals from the Legend of Korra TV show.

I started by word storming all of the ideas I could think of. I then took my favorites and began sketching several thumbnails for each one. After I came to some concepts I liked, I flushed out some of my better ideas. The final step of the process was choosing one concept and pushing it through to a finished product.

I'm happy with how this turned out even though I didn't win the competition.
