Emoji Reaction

Hello fellow designers,

In the last post, we introduced the idea of a GIF sending flow. Today we are going to focus on emoji reactions.

We spend a lot of time at work chatting with our coworkers and sharing all sorts of different things, such as new features, holiday schedules, useful articles, and welcome messages.

Sometimes words aren't enough, and we want a simple way to express our feelings, but a GIF animation may seem out of place. Emoji reactions can not only save time but also add more empathy.

Here are the principles that guided our decision in determining the set of reactions we are rolling out with now:
– Reactions should be universally understood
– Reactions should be widely used and expressive

During the interview, we selected the 5 most commonly used emojis to use as quick reactions to a message and a button that allows you to open all other emojis and choose the one that can maximally convey the user's emotions in the moment.
