Season Wind Mural

For this project I was commissioned to create a mural for a Chinese boutique fashion label. They were not especially clear about what they required, other than it needed to be black and white. I wanted to do something using animal masks as an inspiration but this was rejected in favor of something more 'classical.' I sketched out a range of different possible directions and themes and eventually arrived at a design that integrated roman arches with illustrations of artichoke plants. The drawing was all done in brush and ink and then digitized to be printed on a large scale and installed as a mural at their store.
