Identity - A Curious Journal

This is an image from a project I did recently where I was asked to write a journal on who I am as an artist and as a designer.

My journal focused a lot on different experiences I've had, people I've met and things that I have learned throughout my life that have had an impact on me and made me who I am today and I wanted to physically portray that idea by writing those things along my own skin. In the same way tattoos permanently represent something significant to their owner, I wanted this journal to capture significant things in my life that have made an impact on my identity. The whole piece is themed around the concept that I am what I surround myself with and allow into my life as an influence, and I think the quote on the chest piece sums it up very nicely...

“Most people are other people. Their thoughts are someone else's opinions, their lives a mimicry, their passions a quotation.” - Oscar Wilde
