Belgrade protest 2020

Pictures of excessive force by police were shared across social media during the protests in Belgrade in July 2020. They were beating and tear-gassing the protesters while also instructing pro-government thugs and hooligans to induce riots.
Serbia imposed one of the strictest lockdowns in Europe starting in mid-March and the elections scheduled for late April were postponed to June. The government failed miserably to prepare citizens and the health system for what was coming while spreading misinformation.
This is the situation that the ruling president Aleksandar Vučić used to promote himself and his propaganda during his daily TV conferences. There is almost no objective media coverage, everything is heavily censored- except social media.
Vučić has blamed the spike of the COVID-19 on the protesters and has dissed them as "fascists, right-wingers, conspiracy theorists, and flat-Earthers" talking nonsense and refusing to answer any relevant questions about corruption, elections, COVID-19 crisis...
