If Run the Jewels had a thesis it would be RTJ4. The beats are non stop, head pounding and hypnotic. The lyrics are as radical, charged and timely as ever. RTJ is always the sound of protest, but RTJ4 feels even more like the anthems and cries of 2020. Killer Mike and El-P’s ability to go bar for bar while presenting social contemporary is unmatched.
