Janis Display Typeography

Designed in the spirit of art nouveau and the late 19th century. I was influenced by the cover designs of Jugend magazine and how the type/illustrative adaptations from the movement depict women and express femininity through strength, beauty, and skill. Janis Joplin is the powerful woman that evokes these ideals and served as my muse for this project during my sophomore year of design school at Wichita State University in the Fall of 2016.
